When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Knight. History: Born to a Roofer, her mother struggled to pay the bills. She worked as a nervous Bounty Hunter and found it very stressful. She ran away from her former home and has been making her living as a Bounty Hunter for the past few years.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. He has had some formal music training, and achieved minor success. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Personality: While he acts the brute, he is far gentler than he would appear. He has a hair trigger and will fly into rage over the tiniest perceived slights.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the east. Through the years after Gale was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Gale's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. After a long history of fighting, Gale and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: A child with a great deal of music talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. Like her father and her sister before her, after school she went straight into learning to become a Shepherd. She has set out to sabotage the competition.
