History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Kite was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She always admired psionic-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. Since then, she has sought to make the best of life.

Personality: Aside from being a little slow due to sleep deprivation he is generally quite perceptive. He notices little details and can draw good conclusions from them. His home and work are filled with various knick knacks he has acquired through the years. He cares a great deal for his adopted teenage daughter.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. His first spouse was a Locksmith, they had one daughter, but his spouse won total custody. Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. He hasn't been sleeping well lately.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Cartwright and was forced into it by his family.

History: Havilar was raised in a hard working conservative environment. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Cartwright.

Motivation: Her relatives are trying to arrange a marriage; and sabotage a competitor
