History: Born to a Sailor, his mother struggled to pay the bills. Uthemar abandoned his home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains. He survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. He did whatever it took for him to survive. After a long history of fighting, Uthemar and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: She was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for her. It may also be what makes her so good at details. Cursed with vampirism at a very young age, Emmeline has worked very hard to control her curse. She then took over the family business and is one of the better Tanner for hire.

Motivation: She'd like to take her coworkers down a peg.

History: When she was but 6 years old her parents immigrated from the south. A gifted student she started as a Engraver, but she got bored and became a Crown-heir. She has never given up on her singing dream.

Motivation: Sabotage a competitor; and she is unsatisfied with her job

History: He was born in a small mountains village. Being born in the south, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the south for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Personality: A grumpy gal she will invite people to lunch so she can critique them. Yet she still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. As she has aged she has sought to do reparations for her actions as a youth. She is also making sure that her compatriots who never received punishment for their crimes are brought to justice.

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Irann grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Irann. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Her father taught her the rudiments of the Miner arts, while her mother instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. Her family was turned out during the war. She and her family wandered west to less war torn lands. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.
