History: Heir to a fortune, her parents put a great deal of effort into curing her disease. There was a wharf not far from home where she often wandered off to fish. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: She made a deal with a demon which lead to her current lot in life, and she's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and she desires to right it

Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Rurik fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
