Personality: She takes her job very seriously, in part because she fears she cannot get a new one. She is fiercely devoted to her father, and views her father's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating her from her legal half-sister.

History: Ranala was born the youngest of three triplets. Her father disappeared, and while she tried to raise money to find her father, she was betrayed dozens of times. When she grew older, she became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. She began work as a mercenary for hire. She would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.

Motivation: She feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help; and a rival would like her out of the picture

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud.

Personality: He is a pretentious jerk insisting that modern society is full of problems and should revert to a simpler time. He enjoys reading and quiet.

History: He is a Doppelganger in disguise. Through the years after Halimath was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Halimath's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: She comes from a rich northern family. Ostracized due to the druidic powers of her oldest sister, she and her siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Dwarves became a terror of the countryside. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

History: Arha lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. She moved from fad to fad and when she turned 15 she discovered writing. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.

Description: He is a husky man, who wears a brown vest and prefers grey and white shirts. His boots appear to have been at one point steel toed but are quite worn down. He has yellow fur. He has hazel eyes.

Personality: He is almost excessively polite to everyone, even when angry. He is often prim and proper but will on occasion tell either really disgusting or offensive jokes, which seem out of character.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Flame was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. Being born in the north, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

History: He got into the Soapmaker business at a young age. A gifted student he started as a Shepherd, but he got bored and became a Soapmaker. He has recently attracted an admirer that believes he's playing hard to get.
