Because his mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, goblins burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the south, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his father from journeying south to reunite his family. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

As she has aged she has sought to do reparations for her actions as a youth. She is also making sure that her compatriots who never received punishment for their crimes are brought to justice.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Rosamund was born on a far western desert where she grew up under the tutelage of her father, an expert Doctor. Being a Doctor kept her interest for a while, but then she became depressed and bored. So she turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Motivation: She is a bit of a kleptomaniac; and she is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences her actions
