History: Valanthe hails from a village terrorized by giants. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her mother gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her mother, who blamed her for driving them apart. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

She refers to her adoptive mother for almost all things she is unsure about, which are numerous. She is very much still a child and has not developed a drive for self-dependency.

History: She was born at the edge of vast island. Being born in the south, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency.
