History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He now mingles about in high society.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Quarion grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Quarion. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

History: She grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. Like her mother and her sister before her, after school she went straight into learning to become a Spice Merchant. She tends to her Spice Merchant job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations she has.

History: Aerdeth lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He dropped out of school to support his sick mother, and resented it. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion; and doesn't want to be a knight and was forced into it by his family

She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
