History: Born in the south to a Guard, Traulam learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. She worked as a nervous Guard and found it very stressful. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. He has never given up on his writing dream.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Spy hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: Her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion; and she uses money and sex appeal to get what she needs

Personality: Friendly and accommodating she would invite many more into her home than her spouse would be comfortable with if they did not express concern about it. She claims to be unscrupulous but at the end of the day she will do what she thinks is right.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Her father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her father was legitimate. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and she desires to right it; and she wants revenge against giants
