Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and to prove his worth to the world

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Shivering was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the brigands.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. Her first spouse was a Architect, they had one son, but her spouse won total custody. Without her spouse to temper her she grew out of control. She was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of philosophers.

Motivation: To pay off her debts; and her relatives are trying to arrange a marriage
