He found his mother impaled in their home, and his father beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He tends to his Carter job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

History: Born in a small village she learned the ways of the warrior from her mother. She made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. When she grew older, she became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. She began work as a mercenary for hire. She would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Her father was a soldier and died while she was still young. Joan was left her father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: She is compelled to act according to her religious beliefs; and she wants nothing more than to rejoin the army
