History: Frederick lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

History: She was born to loving parents in a slum to the east. Through the years after Ronobe was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Ronobe's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: She is compelled to act according to her religious beliefs.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Foxilon was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. After a long history of fighting, Foxilon and his spouse have recently divorced.
