Through the years after Orla was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Orla's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. After a long history of fighting, Orla and her spouse have recently divorced.

History: A powerful necromancer made her what she is. Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. Recently a tribe of giants attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Sannl fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: Her father raised her in a mountain cabin. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Lone grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Lone. She has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

History: Anne hails from a village terrorized by illithids. Since her father passed away years ago, her mother had doted on her, and she came to think her herself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town. She eventually got the idea of being the protector of her homeland from reading books, and has made it her duty.

He refers to his adoptive mother for almost all things he is unsure about, which are numerous. He is very much still a child and has not developed a drive for self-dependency.

History: He was born in the east, but his parents moved at a very young age to the south. At a young age both his parents were killed in an accident. His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. Being a Butcher kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

History: Born to a Barrister, her father struggled to pay the bills. Being born in the south, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the south for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way west. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of her sister; and to unite with her sister

Personality: She hates giants. She views them as having robbed her home of its proper glory. She is vehemently anti-magic. All of it is evil and corrupting in her opinion.

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and she desires to right it; and many giants want her driven away
