Personality: He has a massive crush on the younger sibling of the Carpenter who has hired him part-time. His temper goes off on the smallest of things. He tends to lash out at those around him.
History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.

Personality: He shows great sympathy to all travelers. He's the type to buy drinks and listen to their stories. He is used to getting what he wants. In part because he is a meticulous planner.
History: A powerful brothel owner made him what he is. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
Motivation: Wants to open a new tavern; and balancing his hectic life and new miner responsibilities is difficult

History: Born the oldest of a large religious eastern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: Gifted from a young age, Meriele studied abroad. From there she went from mercenary job to mercenary job. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.
Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and obtaining odd cultural gnomish artifacts is her passion

Personality: Always inclined to offer people food she seems plenty friendly. She spends most of her days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There she gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.
History: Her father raised her in a mountain cabin. Her childhood dream was to be a Shoemaker, but she was a colossal failure. In the meantime she has taken over work as a Shipwright and occasionally as a mercenary.

Personality: She is intelligent and cunning, but she will too often allow her rage to get the better of her. She will lose her cool and rely on brute force to carry the day. She also has developed a complete distrust of the Interpreter profession.
History: She was raised happily, as a normal child born to her mother and father. Her mother taught her the rudiments of the Barber arts, while her father instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. In her 10th year, her parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Decarabia alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Dariff was born into a poor family. Growing up, she dreamt of becoming a Sorcerer, to bring honor to her family’s name. When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Sorcerer in service of a powerful lord somewhere. She was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. She has drifted apart from her friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature sai.

The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. She saw this and took pride in her mother's willingness to do anything to win. Being a Courier kept her interest for a while, but then she became depressed and bored. So she turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.
