History: He was born in the east. His parents were killed by goblins in a raid when he was still a young child. The goblins captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Althaea lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. While she appears to be a normal Elf, she's... not quite right. Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. She has drifted apart from her friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature rapier.

Personality: He is quite gentle and does not know the full extent of his strength. He works very hard to maintain that gentleness. The war was a terrible time for him, and Nicholas does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Nicholas was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Blacksmith. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

History: She was born in the south. She struck it rich when she found rare goods in large quantities. She left for the south, certain she would find work there.

History: He got into the Layabout business at a young age. He worked as a nervous Layabout and found it very stressful. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: Vola is depressed about a lot of things. She tends to be a nihilist. She has zero loyalty and will suck up to whomever is within range, in the hopes of being moved to a better position.

History: A child with a great deal of painting talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Fortune-teller. She tends to her Fortune-teller job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations she has.

History: She was born in the east. In her youth she was part of a gang. She got caught, but did not rat out her comrades and served her time in prison. She used her abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.
