Astar grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Astar. As of late he has set up a hidden staging nest where he ambushes people he hires for escort.

History: Trained by her father for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. She took every job she could get her hands on, but the opportunities for Halflings in the west were limited. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: Murgen hails from a village terrorized by brigands. Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

History: A child with a great deal of dancing talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. Now she works as a dancing tutor during her time off.
