History: She was raised happily, as a normal child born to her mother and father. Her mother taught her the rudiments of the Mason arts, while her father instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. Her mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. She has been saving her money to try and buy her brother's freedom.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Verin grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Verin. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.
