History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a daughter. Some 4 years later her spouse died after the birth of her daughter. Heartbroken, Synthrin never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her daughter whom she trained as her father had trained her before.

Motivation: She feels the way she acts is they only way to get by in the world.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
