History: Bertram hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. History: She was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. She struck it rich when she found rare goods in large quantities. She hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure her.

After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
