Personality: She never swears and excessively uses polite adverbs when speaking. Her respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to her, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, she tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in her reactions to snap at those who irritate her, Spear is combative with any and all who dare try her patience in the slightest.

History: The child of western immigrants she idolized her father. Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Description: Dark and lean, she is a relatively plain woman. She wears a shirt that is too small, which lets her gut show, with a ratty blue coat over it. She is bald on top and has large white tufts of hair around her ears. Her violet eyes are slightly larger than normal.

Personality: She cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with her opinion, she thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, she can get violently argumentative. She is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure she is not cheated out of a speck.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. As a young child she wandered into the woods despite her father's warnings against it. Afterwards she claimed she had encountered illithids who tried to eat her hand. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: While he acts the brute, he is far gentler than he would appear. His home and work are filled with various knick knacks he has acquired through the years. He cares a great deal for his adopted teenage daughter.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when orcs swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Being born in the north, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way west. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by orcs, and he desires to right it; and to reunite with his absent mother
