History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Gnomish conditions. He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 14 years.

History: She was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Barber hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She eventually got the idea of being the protector of her homeland from reading books, and has made it her duty.

Motivation: She feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help; and to share knowledge with the world
