Through the years after Mumpena was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Mumpena's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. By chance she met her brother recently and the two have been together since.

To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Oda. She now owns her own business.
