History: Baern hails from a village terrorized by goblins. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Revenge; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by goblins, and he desires to right it
