History: Melissa lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. She was an apprentice working in her mother's forge. She then took over the family business and is one of the better Shoemaker for hire.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of her brother.

Personality: He is extraordinarily passive and rarely speaks, let alone speaks his mind. He is fiercely devoted to his father, and views his father's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating him from his legal half-sister.

History: He was raised by priests from a young age. Being born in the north, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. By chance he met his sister recently and the two have been together since.
