History: She was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her mother gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her mother, who blamed her for driving them apart. She left for the east, certain she would find work there.

History: Hecat hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. In her 17th year, her parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Hecat alone in the world. History: Akmen was born the youngest of three triplets. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. Some 6 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Akmen never married again.
