History: He got into the Mason business at a young age. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Mason hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Mason.

History: When she was but 5 years old her parents immigrated from the south. Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it; and he doesn't get along with people that don't share his tastes

The giants captured her, and made her a slave and general play-thing. She was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to her deformed appearance. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.
