History: A powerful wizard made him what he is. His parents were killed by dire rats in a raid when he was still a young child. The dire rats captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Gardain was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the dire rats.

Personality: Antrara speaks confidently about a variety of topics with grace. She is clearly well-traveled and educated. She claims to be unscrupulous but at the end of the day she will do what she thinks is right.

History: She comes from a rich northern family. Through the years after Antrara was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Antrara's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She now mingles about in high society.

History: Baern was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Ranger, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Ranger in service of a powerful lord somewhere. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.

Personality: He tends to agree with only himself unless someone else's opinion sounds like he can profit from it. He tries to control his temper but he can't always stop himself from what he feels what must be done. His actions favor neither the good nor the evil, as he answers to a power that mortal men fail to acknowledge.

History: He was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family Peren was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Peren decided he wanted neither the life of his father nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

Personality: Mantus hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate him. It was this clingy personality that held back his singing career. He is a very good compulsive liar and kleptomaniac.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. He inherited a moderately successful company from his mother. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. After months of barely getting by, Mantus managed to ambush a major caravan with a load of valuables. Instantly wealthy, he made his way to the capital under a new identity.

Personality: She seems absolutely devoid of it. She stares off into space and will respond with overly literal and minimalist answers to questions. Ethereal is a bit of a follower. Usually she is manipulated by her brothers into helping them out, but recently she has become more of a free agent.

History: Born in the north to a Map Maker, Ethereal learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. She dropped out of school to support her sick mother, and resented it. She's also a talented Scribe, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Motivation: Wants to raise her children well; and doesn't want to be a map maker and was forced into it by her family

His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
