History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Erdan was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Erdan's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. Recently a tribe of brigands attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. She was regularly beaten by her mother, who blamed her for driving them apart. After a long history of fighting, Shanairla and her spouse have recently divorced.

History: She was born in the north. Her first spouse was a Sculptor, they had one son, but her spouse won total custody. Without her spouse to temper her she grew out of control. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Sculptor they were divorced and she won custody of their son. She worked as a Tailor, and she later adopted a second son.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Tailor and was forced into it by her family; and she feels the way she acts is they only way to get by in the world
