History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Chem alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.
