When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Theren embodies much of what other species detest in the Half-Elves. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of dire rats may trigger it at times.

History: He was raised in a forest tribe. His mother took him hunting and taught him how to get in the mind of other creatures. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
