His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the island due to the painful memories there. Purban took refuge in the ruined castle and found the beat up longsword and armor he uses now. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: Aside from being a little slow due to sleep deprivation she is generally quite perceptive. She notices little details and can draw good conclusions from them. She spends most of her days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There she gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: A child with a great deal of writing talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. Cursed with a spirit at a very young age, Melissa has worked very hard to control her curse. In her journeys she found a malevolent artifact. She wishes to return this artifact and its corrupting influence back to where it came.

Personality: She is fixated on the number 29. She counts her steps and bites of food to keep in track with it. She seems to be used to being ignored and not questioned about it. She is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure she is not cheated out of a speck.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Aline was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Fisher hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.

History: She was born in the east, but her parents moved at a very young age to the west. She has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to her frivolously. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: Always inclined to offer people food he seems plenty friendly. Mugrunden is a bit of a follower. Usually he is manipulated by his brothers into helping them out, but recently he has become more of a free agent.

History: Mugrunden was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Barbarian, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Barbarian in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Gnomish companion (his 'brother'). Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Gardener they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Unemployed, and he later adopted a second son.
