History: Barakas was born with his father's beautiful face. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Verna was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. Since then, she has sought to make the best of life.

History: Born to a Laborer, his mother struggled to pay the bills. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Tharivol embodies much of what other species detest in the Half-Elves. He is lazy, self-centered, vain, and jealous.

History: Tharivol lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Tharivol was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He loathes his own lifestyle; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army
