Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Anselm was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.

History: Trained by her father for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. Saphara was born on a far northern island where she grew up under the tutelage of her father, an expert Bather. When she grew older, she became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. She began work as a mercenary for hire. She would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.

Personality: Confrontational and typically high on some drug or another. Her home and work are filled with various knick knacks she has acquired through the years. She cares a great deal for her adopted teenage son.

History: Nella lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Being born in the west, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the west for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way east. By chance she met her sister recently and the two have been together since.

History: She was born in the south, but her parents moved at a very young age to the east. As a young adult she joined a group advocating for an improvement in Gnomish conditions. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

She found her father impaled in their home, and her mother beheaded. She saw the woman who walked out, and charged her in a blind rage. The woman easily evaded and defeated her, leaving her to live broken and terrified. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Personality: He is happy with his job as a Butcher. He turns his eye from what people do, preferring to live and let live. He lacks moral complications. He does what he is told to by employers but not much else. He spends his money on whatever he fancies at the time.

History: His psionic talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. He worked as a nervous Butcher and found it very stressful. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: Money/treasure; and balancing his hectic life and new butcher responsibilities is difficult
