History: He got into the Cartwright business at a young age. His childhood dream was to be a Map Maker, but he was a colossal failure. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Cartwright for hire.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Heward was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. Heward was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Heward decided he wanted neither the life of his father nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

When his mother died while fighting giants, the young Gerald began to lead the lost caravan. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Gerald was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.
