History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. A freak accident while working with his Glassblower mother left him crippled. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: Further expansion of business; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by drow, and he desires to right it

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Roland grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Roland. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.
