History: Emen was born into a poor family. Growing up, she dreamt of becoming a Barbarian, to bring honor to her family’s name. When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Barbarian in service of a powerful lord somewhere. She was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. Lacking all sense, she decided to go on an adventure. She picked a direction and started trekking.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Thorpe was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. Cursed with a spirit at a very young age, Thorpe has worked very hard to control his curse. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Seeks redemption; and he made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it
