History: Oppleby lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Server they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Guard, and he later adopted a second daughter.

History: Carlin hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. Through the years after Carlin was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Carlin's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by gnolls. Carlin was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the gnolls.
