She was an adventurer many years ago and she formed a blood bond with her Dragonborn companion (her 'brother'). When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her daughters to still be retired.

Since her mother passed away years ago, her father had doted on her, and she came to think her herself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
