Personality: His tongue was cut out and he uses sign language. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of gnolls may trigger it at times.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. In his 13th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Astar alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by gnolls. Astar was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the gnolls.

Through the years after Baern was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Baern's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.
