He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.

Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Brewer they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Bookbinder, and he later adopted a second daughter.
