Motivation: Nothing but the best is good enough for him; and he made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it

She found her father impaled in their home, and her mother beheaded. She saw the woman who walked out, and charged her in a blind rage. The woman easily evaded and defeated her, leaving her to live broken and terrified. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city.
