History: She was born on a small isolated farm. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. She now mingles about in high society.

History: She was raised by priests from a young age. Through the years after Shadow was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Some 8 years later her spouse died after the birth of her daughter. Heartbroken, Sariel never married again.
