Because her mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, orcs burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. She was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented her and her father from journeying west to reunite her family. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by orcs. Mary was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the orcs.
