History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. In his 14th year, his parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Gerard alone in the world. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He became a Architect soon after.
