He found his mother impaled in their home, and his father beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Animal Trainer for hire.

History: He was born in the south, but his parents moved at a very young age to the west. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Humans in Roland's homeland. Roland decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. Recently a tribe of goblins attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Roland fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: He has money and likes to spend it; and obtaining odd cultural tiefling artifacts is his passion
