His shirts and pants tend to be short and undersized for him due to the difficulty of finding a good tailor. He wears a colorful flower in his white hair. His skin is flawless and his brown eyes scan people very quickly.

Personality: Stoic and calm, he prefers to meditate than take action. He will do just about anything if he becomes convinced it is for someone's true love, of this he is easily convinced.

History: Bertram was born with his mother's beautiful face. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He has recently attracted an admirer that believes he's playing hard to get.

Personality: She is fixated on the number 17. She counts her steps and bites of food to keep in track with it. She seems to be used to being ignored and not questioned about it. She invites people to come help in her community garden.

History: Hatae was raised in a hard working conservative environment. Like her father and her brother before her, after school she went straight into learning to become a Layabout. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Personality: He has a massive crush on the younger sibling of the Guard who has hired him part-time. He does not believe in violence as a means to an end. He is a dedicated Guard but believes his peers are too gung-ho.

History: He was born in the west, but his parents moved at a very young age to the east. Trym was born on a far western forest where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Guard. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.
