Personality: He can speak with the dead, and doesn't see much difference between the living and dead. Animals are drawn to him, and he is able to talk to them.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Gnomish conditions. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

History: Malquis lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. She made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.
