A freak accident while working with her Cook father left her crippled. She spent several years traveling with her friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

While he appears to be a normal Dragonborn, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in.
