Through the years after Eldon was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Merla grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Merla. As of late she has set up a hidden staging nest where she ambushes people she hires for escort.
