History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. His childhood dream was to be a Interpreter, but he was a colossal failure. He's also a talented Interpreter, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

History: She was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. In her 17th year, her parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Mella alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. Some 2 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son. Heartbroken, Mella never married again. History: Smoking was raised in a hard working conservative environment. A serious injury left her mother unemployed and in need of constant care. Her family became saddled with debt trying to care for her infirm mother. After a long history of fighting, Smoking and her spouse have recently divorced.
